Competition...

So Mr. T and his friends are starting up their competition again. So....that means guess who will have to keep up! I will do my best. He pushed pretty hard last time (2 hour workouts) I don't know if I can/want to do THAT much but we'll see. 
Of course we haven't gone since last Wednesday. In our defense we have been busy. I did do yard work, again, Saturday and felt pretty sore the next day...does that count? But the good news is with his competition...which gets pretty serious....Mr. T will eat a LOT better and I will fallow because I want to loose weight also. I WILL do it! I will loose weight! I don't think I will loose as much as Mr. T. That man quits drinking soda and looses 5 lbs. I quit and I get a head ache. Although, neither one of us have been drinking it lately (only occasionally, like if we go out to eat) but you get the idea. He sweats and looses 3 lbs I sweat and I just stink. *sigh* On the plus side (ha ha) he gains just as easy where I tend to hold steady. 
So here we go again...

I think I've found it for now anyway

Today while doing our full body weight routine...I was a little intimidated. I don't have a problem doing the free weights. The only problem is the free weights are usually swarming with Macho-men checking themselves out in the mirrors and breathing really hard. But I guess I shouldn't worry too much about how I look using my little 12 lb weights 'cause they're not even looking at me they're too busy with themselves :-)
OK -enough macho bashing (I AM married to one ;-) ) I think for now I have found my motivation. I think there are about 3 reasons
1. I want to be healthier
2. I want to look SMOKIN' for my 10 year reunion (HS that is) next year
3. I want to look good in a swimming suit for the cruise Mr. T and I will probably take next year for our anniversary/graduation
Hopefully those 3 reasons will keep me going! I am still trying different things with my diet to see if I can loose some before the next weigh in!

Motivation Please....

We did another weigh in today....BLAH! I gained! How in the HECK did I gain?! I have been trying to do good about going. I did miss the last two day's last week because Mr. T was out of town. I know I can eat a little better, but usually I maintain not gain! UHGG.....
 I figure it's one of two problems. 1. It's my birth control or 2. I am not pushing like I should or hard enough.
So here's the deal. I am going to push SUPER hard this month and see if I can at least loose the 3 lbs that I gained -2 more, before I run to the Doc and start complaining about how I am gaining weight. But I need help! What motivates you? I know there are at least a couple of you that read this fairly regularly...what keeps you going? I WANT a better/healthier body,but some days that doesn't seem to out weigh how much I NEED that chocolate! If you read this and have LOST weight then how did you do it? What gave you the extra push to get up and do something?
If you feel so inclined I would love a comment or two about your motivation or suggestion about what I could change....

Eating...

I didn't go to the gym today and probably won't tomorrow. Mr T will be busy and I just can't seem to go with out someone to hide behind. Not that it's easy to hide when all sides are made of mirrors but you get the idea...
I have been doing better on my eating. I have been TRYING to eat better but I notice I have been ALOT better with my portions. I stop when I start feeling full instead of just shoveling it in. (I can eat quite a lot when I want to!) I know, I know I said this before....but practice makes perfect. I really feel my appetite slowing down a little. I have been trying to make sure my snacks are a healthy snack and not so sugar filled. I did make brownies last night but they were home-made and low calorie! It also helps that it is summer time and so eating a big, hot, meal is just not appealing, and fresh veggies are plentiful!

Wednesday

We missed yesterday, but went today! I feel good doing the weight routine! I felt a little sore yesterday. That good kind of sore where it hurts to move some muscles, but it's OK because you know you worked them out! Today we did some of the same muscle groups but a little different exercises and we did make it 15 min on the treadmill after!
I want to keep going so I can loose some weight and get a flat tummy!!!

New Routine...

...tried out and I liked it! It was nice to feel like I was toning my arms and stomach and back and...well you get the idea :-) Although it was a little intimidating around the free-weights because of all the macho men that felt like they need to breath really hard and stare at themselves in the mirror, but hey, that's the price you pay for going to a gym...besides the fee. :-)
We rotated all the muscle groups and just kept going in circles. My routine went something like this: chest, thighs, biceps, shoulders,upper and lower back, inner and outer legs, abs, repeat. Something like that anyway. I went through the cycle about 3 times did 15 min on cardio and called it a day, I mean morning.
Note to self...If you don't want to fight for the machines and weights on a Monday morning then you need to be there at 5:30 before it get's busy!

New routine Monday...

Tomorrow Mr. T and I are going to try a new routine. We have enjoyed walking/running/biking out side at night when it is a little cooler, but we usually have the boys so we don't get a fantastic work out. So starting tomorrow we are going to mix it up a little. We are going to do a little more weight training, like a good 30-45 min or so, then do a 1/2 hour cardio.
That way if we decide we still want to go on a bike ride or walk or run we can without feeling like we are burnt out from the morning work out. I am looking forward to this and hoping that I can start defining my arms and abs a little more instead of just my legs.
I also need to get this weight loss thing figured out...UHG!!!

We went today!

We went to the gym this morning...YAY! We did some weights and then ran for 1/2 hour. I know it's not much. But I went swimming today and did squats around the lazy river while holding the tiny kid, and I did sit-ups again while sitting in the wave pool. So some exercising while having fun! I hope some of it pays off soon!
On the down side found out the Mona Lavender Day's are this weekend and I wanted to do the 5k walk/run, but I have a family reunion on Saturday so the 5k will have to wait. In all honesty I don't think I am ready to run it yet. I think I would make it while walking/running, but I think it would pretty pathetic time.

Biking fun....

Mr. T ran, I rode the bike. We went around the neighborhood tonight it was nice. I pulled 2 kido's with me on the trailer and the hills were a killer! But it was nice to get out an exercise. With the holiday's we haven't been exercising much. 
I did do a weigh in and lost .7 LOL! Well it's something anyway!

I ran today...

So I ran today, probably the only work out I'll get this week. Maybe I'll do some Cardioke tomorrow while Mr. T is at work, early in the morning.
We ran around the neighborhood today. Man, it was HARD! I knew it would be harder running on pavement rather than treadmill. Mr. T hardly broke a sweat but I felt my legs and lungs were burning by the time we were done.
Most of the reason we haven't worked out this week has been because Mr. T has had to get to work to early for us to go to the gym. So I will work on finding something that I can do when that happens. Or when the baby wakes up and looks at us when the alarm goes off...again, preventing us from going.
